Now there singing John Lennon's Communist song Imagine. Perhaps South Korea wants to be part of North Korea.

Our differences make us who are we are.
Maybe liberals think we’re all better off being the same but that’s not how I think.
Diversity is the essence of mankind.

Abolishing differences leads not to freedom but is the gate to totalitarianism.
I thought IOC President Bach was being myopic when he said sport had the power to unify us and lead us to set aside our differences.
Humanity has never been and will never be unified.

I bet this is the most light the NORK athletes have ever seen at night in their lives.

The woman who sang the Olympic Hymn, was stunning.

Funny, I had the opposite reaction. I thought it was humiliating for the South Korean athletes to be made to march under a meaningless rag in their own country. I think it was a huge propaganda victory for the North and the South Korean betrayed his own people in the name of meaningless PC BS.

I don’t know, I guess we’ll see long-term how it shakes out. The one thing is that despite the division, Koreans are a very proud people and see each other as brothers, in spite of who rules the North.

Were those really drones able to make those images of the snowboarder and the Olympic rings, or was it some kind of special effects? If real, then the speed in which they moved in sync to create the different images was both awesome and at the same time intimidating/scary to think of what they might be programmed to do with such synchronicity.

I thought I heard the announcer say those drone and skier sequences were taped in December when the weather was better.
Did anyone else hear that? It was still impressive.

The woman who sang the Olympic Hymn, was stunning. The opera singer. I agree! Her voice was beautiful, and her elaborate costume was incredible.
She was one of the best parts of the opening ceremony. I was pretty underwhelmed by the rest of it.
I *despise* the John Lennon song 'Imagine'. I was really disappointed the Koreans decided to include this stupid song. I think it would've been much better to feature their own music, which might have been very interesting to Westerners.

I think it was a huge propaganda victory for the North and the South Korean betrayed his own people in the name of meaningless PC BS. I totally agree. I thought it was quite appalling. I actually felt bad for the South Korean athletes who have worked so hard for years to qualify to compete in the Olympic games. I'm sure they would've rather marched under their country's flag.
Could you imagine American athletes not marching under the Stars and Stripes??

NBC didn't say a WORD about that. First time I've heard of it. Un-perky Katie Couric and Mike Tirico were gushing over and over about the "unified Korean team" all night though. *barf*
Katie looked and sounded tired by the way, but she got in a plug for some upcoming show she's doing on Nat Geo while the Opening Ceremony was underway.
I *hate* NBC!

Acted like a bunch of conceited juvenile showoffs. Dignity is getting hard to find in America. Very well stated.
