'This is what we do to kids in Mexico': Drunk stranger 'spanks man's toddler son' in a grocery store after hearing the two-year-old cry when he was told he couldn't have a candy bar A drunk man was arrested in a Georgia grocery store on Tuesday after allegedly spanking a stranger's toddler son when he heard him whining that he was not allowed a candy bar.
Juan Guvarra Martinez, 62, was standing behind James 'Logan' Morris in line at a Kroger in Newnan, near Atlanta, on Tuesday.
He overheard Morris's son ask for a candy bar and watched as he began to cry after being told no.
The man is then said to have grabbed the boy by the arm and hit him around the wrist before twisting him round to spank his bottom three times.
According to boy's father, he told him: 'This is what we do to kids in Mexico.'
Morris, a plumber, was calm and took his son back, saying: 'Buddy, we are not in Mexico.'
He paid for his goods and sent his son and the rest his family outside then waited as police arrived to question the man.
Video of them arresting Martinez, who was dressed in construction worker's clothes, was obtained by The Newnan Times Herald.
It shows him standing by the cash register, confused as he is put in handcuffs.
According to the officers, he reeked of alcohol and seemed drunk.
Morris said the man hit his son three times on the backside. The child stopped crying and was in shock, he said.

Why you ask?
When I was a kid if Mom or Dad said "No" in the grocery store there was no screaming or crying and if you did you got your butt busted right then and there or later but you know it was coming. Kids knew better. No meant NO. Not these spoiled brat snowflakes.
Thank you Mr. Mexican man for telling it like it should be "spare the rod and make snowflakes of or kids" (spoil the child but you get the point)

The father should have given the kid another spanking and see this is what you get for misbehaving.
I know from personal experience they let their kids run wild. They might rape them but they don’t spank them.
Hmmmmm....I’m split on this one.
I’m not gonna use the “if this had been my child” argument because a stranger wouldn’t have had the chance to spank my child if he was acting up in public.

Back in the day I would get a crack if I pulled the store crying routine.
But my Marine/NYPD father would have cracked the skull open of a stranger in a store who took it upon himself to do his job for him.
He did give permission to the teachers in the parochial school I attended if to use corporal punishment on me. If he found out I was hit by the teacher…he would give it to me again for being disrespectful of the teacher.
Now come on..if your kids really deserved it won’t you back another adult? You know your kids and you KNOW the trouble they can get into.
I’m with this Mexican man and I’m so “sick and tired” (borrowing the phrase) of little brats screaming and crying in stores, restaurants and their tone deaf parents don’t do anything to stop them nor remove them from the place. In my day we knew better our parents would had us out of there and smacked our bottoms all the way to the car!
The child was only two years old.

My dad said if he heard I was spanked at school I might not want to come home, because compared to what he would do, the nuns would just be a warm up.
