I guess they don’t have the past tense in England. In America, the proper headline for this article would be:
“[38 years ago in 1980] Loggers _found_ perfectly preserved canine 20 years after it got stuck while ‘chasing a racoon’”
I’m waiting for the Daily Mail to print “MEN WALK ON MOON” (which is only 11 years older than the story about the preserved canine, by the way) so I can say “No way. That’s great. We’ve landed on the moon!”
I agree. Poorly written article, but interesting subject.
