I have a libtard BIL who just quit his job at Ikea. Now, normally this would be a dream libtard job, what with their progressive crap and all. But, business is still business, and like every business in the 21st century, they have to constantly reinvent themselves and change, otherwise they go the way of Sears. He had some job in the warehouse he was OK with. Then they came along and told them everyone has to learn other jobs, and they would pay to train them to do it. So, what does he do? He quits. He doesn’t want to learn another job. He liked his old job and he wanted to keep doing just that one thing. I told him that from here on in, the only constant is change, and if he wants a job he has to be flexible, but that is just not in his DNA. I suspect this is what is going on at Whole Foods.

I see some people are trashing Millennials. Just for the record, my BIL is 63. This is not just a Millennial problem.

#24 My sister told me of her friend with the same attitude. He did 1 thing at a machine shop for many years but when they were making changes he ended up being laid off as he would not update his skills. He became a part time janitor and even that was too much for him.

One of my uncles was pulled from school in 3rd grade to help support the family. Ten kids and a sick mom.

In the early 50’s he got married and went to work at a paper mill.
After a few years on the job the company updated their machinery, putting modern (at the time) gauges and controls.
He told his supervisor that he couldn’t read and couldn’t figure out the controls. They told him to learn or leave.

His wife worked with him every night starting with first grade level books. He learned to read.
He retired from that same company thirty years later.

I feel sorry for people who cut and run when things don’t go their way or they have to change.
They never know the power of overcoming an undesirable situation.

Your BIL is the modern day equivalent of the Mastodon. Adapt to change or die...................
