THE DANGER OF ATTENDING A CLASS REUNION!
email from an OLD friend | 02/05/2018 | unkown

The 60th High School Reunion

He was a widower and she a widow. They had known each other for a number of years, having been high school classmates and having attended class reunions in the past, without fail.

This 60th anniversary of their class, the widower and the widow made a foursome with two other singles. They had a wonderful evening, their spirits high, with the widower throwing admiring glances across the table . . . and the widow smiling coyly back at him.

Finally during one dance, he picked up courage to ask her, "Will you marry me?

After about 6 seconds of careful consideration, she answered, "Yes.... yes I will!"

Needless to say, the evening ended on a happy note for the widower. However, the next morning he was troubled. Did she say Yes or did she say No? He couldn't remember. Try as he would, he just could not recall. He went over-and-over the conversation of the previous evening, but his mind was blank. He remembered asking the question, but for the life of him could not recall her response.

With fear and trepidation, he picked up the phone and called her. First, he explained that he couldn't remember as well as he used to. Then he reviewed the past evening. As he gained a little more courage, he then inquired of her, "When I asked if you would marry me, did you say .Yes or did you say No? "Why you silly man, she replied, I said Yes. Yes I will! And I meant it with all my heart!" The widower was delighted. He felt his heart skip a beat. Then she continued. "And I'm so glad you called, because I couldn't remember who asked me.

I laughed until I cried reading this...
Thank you for posting it.
The sad side of this is, my precious hubby now has Parkinsons and a severe memory loss.
Each day we celebrate what we do remember.....
and I know there will be a day when he strains to remember who I am, sadly.
But for now we laughed heartily!!!!!!

oh and we will celebrate our 59th Wedding Anniversary a week from Wednesday!

An elderly couple are driving across the country. The woman is driving when she gets pulled over by the highway patrol.

The officer says, "Ma'am did you know you were speeding?"

The woman, hard of hearing, turns to her husband and asks, "What did he say?"

The old man yells, "He says you were speeding!"

The patrolman asks her, "May I see your license?"

The woman turns to her husband once again. "What did he say?"

The old man yells, "He wants to see your license!"

The woman gives the officer her license. The patrolman looks it over and says with a smile to the old man, "Tallahassee, Florida, huh? I had a blind date once with a gal from there. Worst piece of ass I've ever had."

The woman turns to her husband. "What did he say?"

The old man yells, "He said he thinks he knows you!"

I used to work for a very large company, and worked there for over ten years.
I still see some of my former co-workers in the stores and restaurants from time to time.
For the life of me, I cannot remember their names, so I just pretend to ‘not’ see them..............

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...and they pretend not to see you either for the same reason! LOL
That reminds me of when dad, season ticket holder, went to the UCLA football game where the old time football alumni were going to appear. He was all excited because some of the guys from his time at school would be there. Then he tells me after, he was so disappointed when “a bunch of old men” ran out onto the field!!
I went to the 20th. Was breastfeeding, I remember pumping and dumping in the bathroom. My best friend whom I met in high school and I drank a bit too much and just ditched our husbands at a table and walked around and talked to everyone in the room. I think it was fun. But yeah, I wasn’t interested in going to any other. The people I’d want to see again I could. Just saw someone else from high school a few months ago. Amazing what crazy lives we all have lived since then.
Never went to any class reunions. Didn’t like ‘em in high school, don’t figure that changed much.
Define bad high school experience. I thought I was hot shoot in high school. I only learned later that no, I was an abused kid. I didn’t seek popularity but I was extremely confident and secure for all the wrong reasons. High school boys were 99% so beneath me, I felt. I thought I was more mature than everyone there with my double life. What an idiot I was.
That’s sad, and as I read down the thread, you have a lot of company.
I’ve attended most of my HS reunions and wouldn’t purposely miss one. We had a very small, close-knit class for which I am eternally grateful. At our last reunion last September, a classmate’s husband and I started chatting as he was just standing off quietly alone, taking it all in. He said he found it amazing, the chemistry our class has, 55 years later. He kept in touch with one classmate from his big urban school, who hasn’t seen now in 30 years.
I’m a retired cop. Don’t want to make it easier for people to find me.
I’ve sort of kept in touch with a few people.
The rest I can live without.
There’s quite a few folks from college I stay in contact with, mostly through the Gonzaga hoops blog. We also had a pretty tight group of about 20 in my ROTC class. 22 of us matriculated as ROTC scholarship cadets, we only lost two during those four years.
