“The prohibition of cannabis has historically been seen as arbitrary and has not yet been implemented in an intelligent and effective manner,” the head of BDK, André Schulz, told Bild newspaper on Monday.

“In the history of mankind, there has never been a society without the use of drugs; this is something that has to be accepted,” he added. “My prediction is cannabis will not be banned for long in Germany.‎”

The BDK, therefore, advocates a “complete decriminalization of cannabis use,” Schulz said, adding that the current legal system is stigmatizing people and promoting criminal careers. …

drugs are a commodity.

Agreed.

That means money. When you have problem that involves money you get control of the money and you get control of the problem.

Not sure I follow you here; what would "getting control of the money" look like?

Currently the great majority of the money is controlled by criminals. It’s laundered, it’s untaxed and it corrupts. It corrupts everything it comes in contact with. The justice system, the police, politicians and the masses.

What I mean is legitimize the commodity and therefore you legitimize the money. Anheuser Busch doen’t need to bribe the courts and the police to do business.

Slaves were a commodity at one time also. And they still are in much of the world, mostly thanks to leftism (which includes Islam).

True. But you can’t roll them up and smoke them.

So we should ban marijuana to defend the rights of marijuana?

Sounds like something some sultan somewhere might have tried, although as a punishment to the slave.

More like anything can be commoditized, if that’s a word.

Either way, the prophecy of the US Constitution being wholly inadequate to the government of the immoral and irreligious is certainly come true. Character matters, especially in a government that is designed to maximize freedom.

Mind you, Germany’s Basic Law is more similar to the USSR constitution than the US. Either way, the moral character of a nation is the key to its success.

I'm not sure it was a "prophecy" - but it's certainly true. I find no record of any Founding Father saying government could make people moral and religious, whether by banning immoral and irreligious actions or by any other means.

You’re exactly right, and that was John Adams’ point about the US Constitution.
