From what I read, it appears to have been a giant pump and dump scheme, where those in the know pumped it up and talked it up and then sold at a high point and got out.

I bought TRON a couple of days ago at $0.062 and right now it's below $0040 - but it'll bounce back up soon enough.

This is all because the 'Tether' coin is being investigated (it's value is tied 1:1 to the US Dollar, and there is speculation that they don't have all the $$'s that they say they have). Tether is having such a big impact because this is where everyone 'parks' their investment when they are waiting on other coins to drop into the "buy zone".
