I think he actually did in the beginning! He went from about 12 pounds to 11. I’m trying to get him to his optimum weight of 10, but now that he has discovered people food it’s all over. He gets so excited when we eat, twirling in circles, running over meowing, and staring at me with those big Persian eyes....It’s real hard to say no… So I don’t.
Put something on your plate that’s cat-healthy - some little canned shrimps or tuna, perhaps. He’ll probably know the difference, but might be mollified long enough for you to scarf up your food ;-)
We had a Maine Coon that tipped the scales at 31 pounds at his heaviest. Big-boned beastie, but he DID like his food. He was down to a reasonable 15ish when he died.
