The movie Christine was a lot better than the book. Its the only movie by him I like.
Many of King's books have made it on to the Silver screen. His style(glorified comic book, horror) is very easy for directors to convert to both the large screen and small without skimping on the plot.
His first(IIRC) was "The Shining"
I usually watch the movie version of his books first then if I like it, I'll buy the book.
I enjoyed both the movie version of Christine and the written word.
Have you seen "The Night Flyer"? Not a book but a movie written by King. Good horror flix, IMHO. Also "Storm of the Century"

Well I don’t like his horror books at all. I liked the movie Christine and then read the book. Big difference, book was dull. Did he do the movie about this housing development built over a graveyard? I saw that one which was sorta okay.

The Shining was actually made into a Jack Nicholson vehicle that wasn’t very faithful to the plot in 1980 and also a TV miniseries that was much more faithful. I like the miniseries better.
