You have to make a whole lot of bad choices to get to where this woman is.
No husband?
No job?
Four kids?
No friends?
No food pantry?
A church wouldn’t help her? Really?
No one to call except 911? But she has a smart phone, I’m guessing?
Seriously, anyone with compassion for those 4 kids should take those 4 kids away and give them to someone who won’t mess up their lives. This lady can’t handle that job.
Can I tell you how many times that we’ve responded to calls like this and similiar to this, and they have 3 or 4 TVs, multiple video game systems, kids are wearing 100.00 sneakers, Mom has her hair and nails done and a nice car in the driveway. It’s all about priorities.

When they cut service for non payment they (the provider) must keep 911 available.
A few years ago there was a group collecting old phones to pass out to the needy. This allows those with no resources to have a phone to call 911.
You assume that this woman had full service, we don’t know, but it was noted in the article 911 was the only number she could call.
As for the dispatcher. If there are children starving, then you send an officer to investigate and then they can call child services.
Frankly there are all sorts of helps for food in her city......there’s something more going on we’re not hearing about.
I agree there’s something wrong with the women who let it go this far without friends or family stepping up.
And further it’s not true it takes so long to get food stamps...unless you’ve abused them and been denied for a time.
Agree...it is almost impossible to run out of aid and assistance in America. I hate to seem callous, but something is fishy here. She clearly cannot budget money, either. Why did her last food stamps run out? Maybe she sold them and used the money for drugs?
The poor woman must be an absolute wreck.
I work at a church and we don’t give money but we certainly keep food on hand for the hungry.
For anything else we send them to an umbrella organization that all the churches support.
We do Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets but we have to cross check lists with other churches because so many ask 3 and 4 organizations for food.
You lose a little compassion when you work at a church.
