Um, real Christians do plenty, and churches do a lot helping those in need. That said, some people need to suffer consequences in order to change their behavior. The welfare state has removed consequences AND made Dads largely superfluous.
So...what have YOU meaningfully done in your life to roll back the welfare state?
Because all levels of Government have taxed the average American into penury.
I spent several years during the Obama administration running a very large convenience-type store (actually the pay was great for that type of work) as the night manager. The minority people would roll in driving leased Lexus and Cadillac SUVs then buy a bunch of things from the deli and also tons of junk food. They would use EBT cards and then pull out rolls of cash, much of them $100 bills to pay for the deli food that the EBT cards wouldn't cover.
Last summer my wife and I were back home shopping at a Meijers. Three black ladies were talking about how they had just paid over $300 for each of their hairdos and then one of them pulled out a EBT card and said she would pay for all their groceries with the "free money."
I made money as a kid working on my Uncle's dairy farm and mowing lawns. Both my wife and I joined the Air Force at the age of 18 and we have worked ever since and have never taken unemployment or welfare. We were furious at how these black people consider ripping off and stealing our tax money while having nicer cars and buying expensive, unneeded things with "Free money."
You ever notice how EBT cards never take a reduction? What a racket these low-life ferals live.
A large group of churches around here, including ours, banded together and opened a great food pantry and a separate family shelter. Other area churches have done similar or run their own. Most of them actually share data to try to weed out the professional moochers and have done a remarkable job doing so.
If you do publish it PLEASE find a way to notify us here on FR as I will be the first one to purchase that book. God bless you and your family!
Reading and being able to get the real story are two different things.
Who are you to judge who and who does not get “the real” story? Good grief, everybody who read the article can recognize the LEOs did a good thing - that doesn’t mean every comment has to mention it. I will bloody well comment on what I want, Thought Police.
I used to donate my old cell phones to a shelter for abused women in Baltimore House of Ruth. You are correct in that a cell phone, as long as it has a charge, can be used to call 9-11 even without cell service. Some of these women lived in constant fear that their abusive husband or boyfriend would find them so having a phone that could be used to call 9-11 was essential for their and their childrens safety.
This org and others like them helps women and their children escaping abusive relationships, who could be a husband or boyfriend or even a parent and provides them with shelter and food, legal assistance, job training and job finding assistance. They also accepted donations of work appropriate clothing so these women could go on job interviews and have something to wear if and when they got a job. Some years ago after I had lost a lot of weight, I donated some really nice work clothes including a couple of womens suits to them.
Some of these women were so desperate to escape their abuser, that they show up at the shelter with nothing more than the clothes on their back.
Another great thing to donate is your used eye glasses, assuming they are still usable when your prescription has changed. I know a lot of eyeglass places have drop off bins, often through The Lions Club.
What did I say that is “false”?
No need for snark quotes; that is simply FALSE. Untrue. Contrary to provable facts.
You should be hanging your head in shame for bearing false witness.
They aid and abet illegals.
A lot of Catholic churches act as sanctuaries for illegals.
The following links are just a small sample:
“The Diocese of San Bernardino won’t declare itself a sanctuary system but is letting its Catholic churches decide for themselves.” Article below:
“undocumented immigrants could take refuge in Catholic churches with the support of local parishioners, said Sacramentos Roman Catholic Bishop Jaime Soto”. Article below:

As I have told others in the past, I didn’t leave the church, the church left me.
