The nfl has chosen sides in this Social Civil War that the left has forced upon us. So be it. I will not watch.

It’s not social activism. It is not civil disobedience.

It is anti American activity

Godell and others are not smart. His thinking is clouded by whatever motivates him to defend these thugs.

The kneelers have the right to not be arrested for exercising freedom of speech.

To extend that to some kind of virtue is insane

But it has to be the right kind of social activism!

Remember when Steeler’s tackle (and former Army Ranger) Alejandro Villanueva came out of the tunnel alone, and stood for the national anthem?

Villanueva was forced to quickly backpedal his actions there. It was all an accident, he said. Funny how Goodell never issued a statement saying he was proud of Villanueva.

I really don't care what social issues players advance on their own time, as ordinary citizens.

But when they do it in uniform, as representatives of their franchise and the league as a whole, that bothers me. And when the NFL buys them off by donating huge sums to left-wing causes, that bothers me even more. It's almost as if Goodell was looking for an excuse to engage in that kind of activism all along.

Been a big NFL fan for many years. Didn't watch a single playoff game this year, and won't watch the Super Bowl. I'm not going to participate in funding causes in which I don't believe.

Surely he is not that stupid?

I am reminded of the General who was in charge during Hurricane Katrina. To paraphrase: He is stuck on stupid.

I hope you’re proud all the way to the poor house.

I will once again boycott. Eff the NFL.

I wonder when the death rattle will be clearly heard?

Well, it seems that in a recent report it was stated that the NFL had a 30% drop in ad revenue. That is certainly the beginning of the "death rattle". Whether Goodell will recognize it as such is another question.

Even then there’s a problem in that it’s all the politics of hate. Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. What do they love, besides themselves?

ALL pro athletes are role models by virtue of their position. if they don’t act like role models, they should be dismissed. winning is less important than real sportsmanship, and class.

until the nfl gets this simple truth, they are not welcome in my house. period.

Proud? Of the entitled, overpaid men playing a game and displaying their contempt for a country that has made them rich? Goodell is disgusting.

Proud of them for what? Destroying the NFL?

They have made no personal sacrifice.

They have no stated objective.

There is no end game.

I am proud of my NFL boycott—my wife is in shock that I am boycotting the Super Bowl—”You have always watched the Super Bowl”—she couldn’t care less about football but is shocked that I shook the habit after fifty years.

Congrats, Goodell, you really did it this time!

‘I will once again boycott. Eff the NFL.’

Same here. Once I was a good fan, I liked the game and the virtues of planning, athleticism and courage that it presented.I spent $ on NFL stuff.
No more, not since last year and the coup by the thugs and cop haters/killers.
If I want to watch politics, I will watch Mrs. Trump at the State of the Union. Not a bunch of privileged, overpaid ignoranuses

"Goodell is clearly putting player’s opinions ahead of his fan’s opinions. He must be totally oblivious to the source of his income. Let them all rot."

It's so hard for me to believe he's that oblivious, but I've wondered the same thing. You could cut the biggest star in the league, announce open tryouts, and there would be 50 athletes trying out for that position within the next two days. Maybe you wouldn't have as much talent on the field, but there is absolutely no reason whatsoever you wouldn't be able to field a team.

Sucking up to the players at the expense of your revenue base makes absolutely no sense to me.

UNLESS....you're really just a liberal SJW at heart. I would think that some of the "businessmen" owners would have the good sense not to torpedo the value of their franchises, but I guess they're blind as well.
