The Southern California teacher facing a firestorm after he was recorded by a student bashing the military in a profane classroom rant has been placed on administrative leave and removed from all assignments he'd be given as a city councilman.
Gregory Salcido, the El Rancho High School teacher and elected Pico Rivera city councilman, will not be able to enter the classroom while school officials conduct an investigation into the recording, the Whittier Daily News reported late Monday.
“One thing we are telling people for sure is that the commitment of the board and the superintendent and the staff is to really get to the bottom of this for the community,” School Superintendent Karling Aguilera-Fort told the paper.
Another teacher has taken over his history and government classes for the foreseeable future, he said.
Salcido, 49, told the paper he is not granting interviews at this time.

I can believe people are saying ugly things about the teacher, I am too, but I highly doubt they are saying ugly things about his wife and child.

He is guilty of real hate speech. They can’t have it both ways.
Even america hating liberals are going to have a hard time publicly coming to his defense.
This is pretty indefensible.
But the damage has been done - young skulls full of mush have heard his poison and if even one of them is influenced by it, that's one too many.
Being a school teacher is not a license to impose your beliefs and opinions on your students, and other "teachers" need to get that message by demonstration since they don't seem to get it through common sense. In this case the demonstration might be a public flogging. Or probably he is so far gone that hanging is the only way to prevent a repeat performance.

Not to mention he used profanities in the classroom.
If Salcido is getting what amounts to a paid vacation, I don’t know how happy local taxpayers are gonna be...

Yup, we really need an investigation. Someone could have been impersonating him, or the students dubbed in the words, or selective editing made him look bad, or someone tampered with his medication, etc.
I guess this idiot “teacher” doesn’t realize that many people join the military as a means to further their higher education (military pays for college or teaches you a trade).
Might lose his job and his city council position for being an ideological elitist jerk. So remind me, who is the dumb one?
