It’s a joke with no punch line, as 85 plumbers on a Norwegian flight headed for Germany discovered Saturday when their plane had to return to Oslo because of a broken toilet, reported The Independent. The flight, which departed Oslo bound for Munich, turned back at the Swedish border.

Union rules? I have read of fearless flight crews, using triple trash bags and reaching into the mess to clear the blockage.

Note to plumbers: Payday is Friday, hot is on the left and NEVER chew your nails.

“it had to be done from the outside and we did not take the opportunity to send a plumber (out) at 10,000 meters”

Heroism of that sort might be appreciated, but should not be expected.

All their tools were in checked-in baggage.

The price that airlines charge for baggage it would be cheaper to buy new tools in Germany.

"All their tools were in checked-in baggage."

And loaded on a different flight.

I have heard Southwest Airlines flight attendants mention that smoking is allowed on this flight but only in the smoking room. The smoking room is out on the port-side wing just beyond the engine.

My son was in Europe and took his climbing gear as carryon.

He was on the plane when someone noticed!
They let him pass! But said nevermore.

Some time ago I was waiting for a conference call meeting to begin. After a while - and trying to find out what was going on on my own - I discovered the meeting was canceled. I had not been notified about this nor had two other co-workers. No email, no text, no phone call. I had to go looking for the info myself.

Why was our meeting canceled?

Because an earlier meeting about “improving communications” within our company had not finished on time and they didn’t bother relaying that fact to those participating in the later meeting.

Priceless irony.
