I’ve been in this game, the bodybuilding one, and I can tell you that these guys get something we called “bigorexia”. The slightest decrease in muscle mass would cause an irrational amount of anxiety. I knew guys who would take Growth Hormone, and have to get surgery for painful Carpal Tunnel issues (a know side effect), and STILL use it afterwards.. its a mental illness, I tell ya. I flirted close to that edge at times.
