Wow, Viking! I’m SO glad she and her co-worker are okay and the dirt-bag is behind bars where he belongs!
She should conceal carry if she’s working in a store.

And therein lies the rub. They're not allowed to carry on store premises; local, state, and Constitutional law be damned. Just like these pizza drivers who pack when they know their deliveries can take them into rough neighborhoods, they can get fired for exercising their legal and God-given right to defend themselves. And it's all because of the mighty dollar - no moral imperative there, just corporate suits who don't want bad publicity and a big cash settlement if an employee accidentally shoots Granny or some ten year old kid because they can't even line up the sights in an active situation. (But that's why they make red dot laser sights - even Stevie Wonder could score a bullseye with one.) So, if you get killed on the job, what a shame - a 'workplace accident' in corporate legal parlance - but you had insurance and possibly a 401k to pay out to your family/next of kin. Condolences, flowers, access to a grief counselor, all of that obligatory offal. Connie has a Taurus PT738 micro carry in .380 ACP and knows how to use it, but she can't walk inside the door with it. And I agree: it doesn't matter what your LOB (Line of Business) is, if you're in retail and by company mandate have a small staff (weekly payroll target, 'natch), you should at least have a silent panic alarm and security cameras running 24/7 to close the threshold of potential violence. They should make these door glass stickers mandatory:

My mammoth corporation doesn’t allow us to conceal carry on their premises, either, but I still do.
