And for what reason is the guy doing it?

I expect he went to get in his car one time and the cat was on the hood. He backed up, expecting the cat to jump off, and it stayed.

Car hoods are very easy to jump off. There is no way to make it stay if it wants to jump. If the cat had wanted to, it would have.

I just don't see how it held on at turns and stops. I guess it did, though.

I used to take a kitten on my shoulder into the grocery store with me. She liked it up there. Same theory.

p.s. I can't believe I'm arguing about a cat on a car hood. I guess I'll argue about anything. Life can be so boring.
