I got drunk in New Orleans once and I woke up with about 10 pounds of those beads around my neck the next morning. I had no idea how they got there and was afraid to find out.

Mobile,
the home of Mardi Gras, made confetti against the law decades ago, because it stopped up the drains so bad. I remember from my youth, the cries of the streets,
"confetti ten cents a bag, three for a quarter", from the young Black boys selling confetti.
I attended Mardi Gras in 1965 for the last time when I briefly lived on Lee Circle, in New Orleans, overlooking the statue of Robert E Lee that was just removed
