Why no Go Fund Me campaign for the wall?

If congress in the past has authorized a border wall but there is no funding, why doesn't Trump just start a Go Fund Me campaign for the wall? Does anybody know if it would be legal. My bet is he would get all the money he needs in less than 30 days. And he would not need to negotiate on DACA. And if a Go Fund Me Campaign is legal or some other donation format is legal how can we get thie pitched to the Whitehouse?

Well in nine months they have raised $2,400. Not much but it’s a start.

At that rate we might get the wall funded in 6,562,500 years.

I’ve said from the beginning the Wall could be financed through private donations and there could be personalized sections for certain levels of donations “This portion of the Wall dedicated to our nation’s security on behalf of James and Mary O’Donor, Kansas City, MO...”

That’s why I’m not too bothered about who funds it because the citizens can fund it if a credible collection-holder can be found.

first of all that go fund me page is by a private citizen. nobody knows about it and is probably skeptical because it is some stranger who obviously has no means to put the building project into action. The point here is to get the Whitehouse to do it. Trump can get this done easy.

Where did O’muslim get 10’s of billions of dollars to send to the terrorists in iran?

The fed govt’s reason for being is to protect our borders, to protect the American people from foreign invasion.

I agree with much of that. Besides the Trump donations I would like to see how much the common people actually donate for a wall and put their money where their mouth is. I’d like to see that myself.

You can raise a few million on go fund me, but not the many billions needed.

There could be a program to allow any level of Government, businesses or the Public to sponsor certain segments that they want - but they would have to fund it through the Federal Government. DHS would have to operate and maintain it. DHS would have to ensure that it is built to standards, and only the FedGov has jurisdiction over the border itself.

HaHa!! In less than a month!! You realize The Wall is $20+ billion, right? This is one reason why I love FR - the cluelessness of reality of some.

War Bonds helped fund WW2, why not the same concept for the Wall?

Not to mention the guy who started the campaign put in $1,000 of his own money to start it.
