Top 5 truly scary horror flicks that left you emotionally jumbled for days after?

I personally don’t do them. The abominable snowman in the old Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer freaked me out long ago.

Glad to hear someone else was traumatized by that thing.

When I was very, very young my brother and I watched 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea on Disney one Sunday night. I was just at the age when I was mastering my potty training and my brother convinced me that giant squid could reach their tentacles through sewer pipes all the way to our upstairs commode.

That's pretty much been my gold standard for cinematic horror ever since.

“Something Evil” by Spielberg scared me first. Then “The Exorcist” totally freaked me out.

When I saw Exorcist with work friends I had to go home to an empty house ‘cause my husband was in the Air Force and had the night shift. I didn’t sleep well for a week.

Slasher stuff isn’t scary to me at all, but things that could/do have a bit of truth in them are different, thanks to my “Demonology” class in Seminary, I guess. And hearing missionary friends’ stories when they were home on furlough.
