An all-star cast has just gotten starrier. Meryl Streep, the most Oscar-nominated actress in history, is joining the second installment of HBOs Emmy-winning limited series Big Little Lies.
Streep will play Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Perry (played by Alexander Skarsgard in Season 1). Concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son Perrys death, Mary Louise arrives in Monterey searching for answers.
This is the first new cast addition since the long-rumored second installment was officially greenlighted with a seven-episode order.
Season 1 stars/executive producers Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon will return in their roles, respectively, as Celeste and Madeline, as well as writer David E. Kelley who again is penning all seven scripts partially based on a story by Liane Moriarty, author of the Big Little Lies book that the original mini was based on.

My daughter thinks Meryl Streep is well-preserved, but I think she’s crossed the line into, “That used to be a human.”
LOL. . .and to think on Saturday in the Dollar Tree, a gal and also another man standing by were adamant that I looked just like Meryl Streep. I didn't take it as a compliment. :)
Maybe they thought you looked like Meryl Streep in a movie she made 25 years ago!
Excellent, now I will never, ever, watch it.
I think I would rather have all my chest hair ripped out by hot wax removal than watch this woman.
Back in the 80’s I used to feel bad that there was something about Meryl Streep that turned me off but I just couldn’t say why.
Fast forward thirty years and I know why way beyond what I would have imagined.
If Streep is jointing the cast, they should rename the program “Bigger Little Lies.”
Well, she is a phony baloney.
Beech can go flip herself!
She knew!
Indeed.
Let's hope it wasn't Ironweed!
Thanks. . .
