There is a massive dichotomy between the average state of aging and those who are aging well (the latter in the minority).
Self-medicating to mask symptoms without addressing the cause(s) is statistically more likely to result in disease, premature death or twilight years best described as suffering than living.
Quality of life improvements after a certain age are pointless. It hardly matters if you understand the plot or “Days of our Lives” if you are in a wheelchair with a colostomy bag on the arm and an oxygen tank next to you.
This sort of stuff matters to me and my wife. We’re both 64, very healthy, and have no Health Care insurance.
Many of us are doing so in coordination with our physicians. My GI doctor is totally on board with the supplements I take to help manage my Crohn’s. I also take a prescription, but the supplements mean I don’t have to take as much of it.
