I wish it were mine. There was a time when you could have had those just for the asking from older family members. When TV came in, a lot of those beauties started to gather dust.

Right. My husband has restored and repaired a bunch of them. We have floor models and tabletop models all over our house, lovely things they are.

I did some googling and it seems to be a 1938 Truetone which was a Western Auto brand. Notice the circle right above the tuning dial? That is one of those Magic Eye tube florescent tuning indicators. Definitely a nice radio. The Art Deco styling is handsome too.

I thought it was a pre 1940 model. Just beautiful.

I can't remember exactly but that magic eye is built into OTR culture. Years ago on the thread we were trying to figure out what some program was referencing about the eye watching them. lol.
