The 24 age is spot on. I noticed in in my son and daughter born in the early 90’s. But I disagree with 10 being the mental aspect and start of a boy entering adolescence. I believe it’s 14 for boys, perhaps 12 for girls but definitely 13-14 for boys and I’m not specifically considering puberty. Just an adolescent mindset.
I have to agree with this article. My kids are 18, 21, and 23. My friends with similar aged kids and I also lament that it seems to be taking FOREVER for kids to grow up and become independent.- even if they want to. Its also hard when we start comparing ourselves at their age.i got married at 23, was completely independent of my parents, we bought a house and started a family soon after. I cant see that happening for my kids until late 20s or early 30 at the rate they are going.
I remember Herbert Hoover saying that the voting age should be raised to 24. At the time I was under 21 and thought that waiting until 21 was a long wait.
