I have to agree with this article. My kids are 18, 21, and 23. My friends with similar aged kids and I also lament that it seems to be taking FOREVER for kids to grow up and become independent.- even if they want to. Its also hard when we start comparing ourselves at their age.i got married at 23, was completely independent of my parents, we bought a house and started a family soon after. I cant see that happening for my kids until late 20s or early 30 at the rate they are going.
I used to underwrite commercial auto insurance. Checking the MVRs for drivers almost invariably revealed that under 25 male drivers had the worst records. After 25 most of those same drivers’ records cleared up and violations were infrequent. Females weren’t as bad but there were few professional female drivers back then.
