When a group of citizens who don't pay taxes vote to raise taxes on the few who actually do pay taxes.....Well, Houston we have a problem. There's only so much tax payers will take even the liberal ones.

Gas is more expensive than other states.

Sales tax higher than other states

Income tax higher than other states.

Minimum wage is higher than other states.

Sanctuary cities reward murder with a free pass.

Jerry Brown is the state’s official nut.

Gee what can go wrong.

write off their state taxes on their federal returns as a charitable deduction

If the charitable contribution is mandatory, it is not a charitable contribution. If it is not mandatory, very few people (even in CA) will do it.

I have never seen such insulting comments in any SacBee article. They make Freepers look like GOPe.

States give incentives for companies to move, how about individuals?

The state’s wealthiest 1 percent, for instance, pay 48 percent of its income tax, and the departure of just a few families could lead to a noticeable hit to state general fund revenue.

You can rob Peter to pay Paul, but what happens when Peter packs up and leaves.

One of the comments in the SacBee article suggested going after rich folks that try to leave Kalifornia. Governor Grey Davis tried to do just that and a Judge through it out of court, stating, in essence ‘I don’t think so!’

In the long game, this will end up being a good thing for the taxpayers of California. It’s going to be painful though. Feet to the fire you (Cali legislators) leftist scum!

Re: Wealthy exodus worries California Democrats

Why? Are they afraid that millions of Hispanics and Asians will start voting for Republicans?

LOL!

That’ll be the day!

I thought California Democrats would be ecstatic.

Is this not the final step in every Leftist revolution?

The wealthy and most productive citizens flee, followed by the imposition of a police state to control every thought and action of the feckless drones who are left behind.

I hear New California may become a reality. So, the super-rich remove themselves.

How is NA (cuz NC is already taken), how is NA gonna be able to pay for all their crap? Increased taxes on the rich? Oops!

With the far cheaper cost of living in Texas, the wealthy Californians can take a lot of vacations to California and still be way ahead.
