Did You Know?
In A Child's History of England, Charles Dickens associates the word cabal with a group of five ministers in the government of England's King Charles II. The initial letters of the names or titles of those men (Clifford, Arlington, Buckingham, Ashley, and Lauderdale) spell cabal, and Dickens dubbed them the "Cabal Ministry." These five men were widely regarded as invidious, secretive plotters and their activities may have encouraged English speakers to associate cabal with high-level government intrigue. But their names are not the source of the word cabal, which was in use decades before Charles II ascended the throne. The term can be traced back through French to cabbala, the Medieval Latin name for the Kabbalah, a traditional system of esoteric Jewish mysticism.

Sorry I am so late today. It seemed as though there was a cabal of interrupters in my life this morning, conspiring to distract me from my duties.
So, you were distracted by the cabal channels?..................
LOL...the Cable Channels ARE a Cabal!
Cabal is a word with a trashy, ancient Roman propaganda origin.
Interesting. The dictionary did not include that.
TINC - There is no cabal. Does anybody recall that and from where?
I had to look up “TINC”. Not much info.
Yes. Some ancient Romans took the word from Kabbalah and reapplied it in propaganda. The real and first “analytical” Kabbalah is a good religious text that describes a few things about Creation, how to focus on study, how to teach and a few other things. Other, more recent, “practical” versions are completely different, superstitious and are used in antithetical and idolatrous ways (e.g., a version popular in celebrity circles).
Anyway, some ancient Romans started describing the religious study as some sort of evil plot as yet another way to libel Jewish people. Medieval Europe continued the Roman tradition with that kind of description regarding meetings between Jewish people. The word, cabal, is one of the preferred words of writers like Pat Buchanan.
Well then, it is good to know word origins! That is the purpose of this thread in fact, and you have given us all something to think about.
Most of us know Hillary had her long-planned election night fireworks well-planned.
Fewer knew Hillary already had her inauguration night dance schedule already planned as well. Yeppers, she had her cabal cowballs dance card all filled out.
And my personal prayer has always been:
“Let all that has been concealed
Be Revealed.”

The Siberian express is on the way for the 3d time since early December, with snow/sleet tonight and tomorrow, barely above freezing in the daytime, 20’s at night-then we thaw out on Thursday. We always have a really cold winter every 5-6 years or so, but I’m sure some idiot will say it is all man made climate change, right?
As all the real Russia scandals
Are dragged into the light of day
Those who still worship Hillary
Are still certain there’s no way
As they all feign phony outrage
They wring their hands and cry-
Pretending their queen’s cabal
Did not include Comey’s FBI
With a threat of Ft Marcy Park
That Clinton koolaid is strong-
It’s no wonder all their zombies
Don’t see something is wrong...
The FBI is a cabal. Now Hillary not being prosecuted for MULTIPLE felonies makes sense.
I guess the deep state members are their own cabal. Schools declared closed for tomorrow, announcement made at lunchtime when it was 40. We’re expecting an inch or two which will paralyze this town. Not kidding.
“It’s all YOUR fault!”
Says the Climate Cabal!
Yes. It used to be the Federal Bureau of Investigation...
Now, it seems, it is the enforcement arm of the Left.
In Fact “Deep State” has become a new vocabulary word.
