Vikings beat the Saints with the most spectacular comeback possible
SBNation ^ | January 14th 2018 | Jeanna Thomas

This one was a tale of two halves, and there was plenty of drama with four lead changes in the final three minutes. The Vikings took a 7-0 lead on their first offensive possession and the defense kept Drew Brees off rhythm in the first half. After the first quarter, Brees was 1-of-6 passing for three yards and a pick.

My husband came with me to my work party (hospitality industry so way after Christmas) at a brewery in St. Joseph, MN No tv so he watched it on his phone. Watched the entire game but phone stopped streaming during the last play. Entire room going nuts and he had no idea what happened.

As lifelong Viking fans we are on cloud nine. SKOL Vikings!!!

“Saints defensive back totally blew it”

Diggs made a smart quick move in not heading for the sideline to stop the clock, there likely wouldn’t have been time for a kick and a kick might not made it anyway. Crazy gutsy play by both QB and receiver.

Stupid mistake, what the guy’s been playing football for how many years? Does he have any concept of “situational awareness”?

"I’m praying for a Vikes-Jags SB."

I agree, but for a different reason.

So long as the Patriots are not in the SB, I'd like to see the Vikings actually win one.

I'm old enough to remember Vikes v. Raiders.

I rooted for the Raiders at the time, as I was a fan of Ken Stabler.

But I knew just how good Fran Tarkenton was and how they made the big game four times and came up empty.

I'm rooting for the Vikings, just so that they can finally break the curse.

I just don't want another ring for Brady.

Even a Jaguars win would be ok.

Marcus Williams probably was seeing a possible pass interference come about as he was running right on Diggs as the ball was approaching. If it was pass interference on the spot then the ball would have been on the 35 yard line and the Vikings could kick a FG to win it with no time remaining

And let’s not forget that give-up running play on third down to force the Saints to kick the FG with plenty of time left on the clock. They get a first down, and it’s “game over”.

Both teams played their hearts out. The Saints even threw in a trick play into the mix. Gotta love a bit of razzle-dazzle.

"Marcus Williams probably was seeing a possible pass interference come about as he was running right on Diggs as the ball was approaching."

So the solution is to take a dive, get out of his way, and let him score a TD?
