Bull Terriers are ridiculously bouncy and playful.

He probably ‘felt threatened’.

Let’s be open minded here, Laz. There are some scenarios in which the police provide needed service. Euthanizing family pets for instance.

So the way to deal with a suicidal man is to shoot him? Sounds kinda counter-productive to me.

It ends the suspense. Then its time to write and file the report. /S

*sigh* These days there are few situations that can’t be made worse by calling the cops.

We need to change that back.

Time was, police were peace officers, intent on keeping the peace. Today they are paramilitary soldiers who shoot first and ask questions when everyone is subdued.

There is no situation in God’s Green Earth, that the presence of a police officer will not make worse

ain’t it the truth...

They don’t understand, she said, why the officer fired

Train like you shoot, shoot like you train.

For less than 99 cents per target, police officers can now shoot at real-life images “designed to give [them] the experience of dealing with deadly force shooting scenarios with subjects that are not the norm during training,” according to Law Enforcement Targets, Inc.’s website.

The company calls it the “No More Hesitation” series:...

But the officer clearly needs more range time.

The little girl lived.

That is very true. You never know if you will get a good, smart cop or a moron that just wants to shoot the dog.

[They draw chalk outlines around your body]

I think if one is going to work for the police, the best job would be “Chalk Outline Guy”. The perpetrators are gone and they ask “Could you just sorta trace around the body with a piece of chalk?”.

[Government Wealth Confiscator]

Ah, like those small towns in Kansas (and elsewhere) where the speed limit drops from highway speeds to ridiculously-low levels in a flash. A great way to grab cash if someone misread a sign. Jackpot!

True, but they all seem to want to be the guy who murders citizens for failing to “Respect mah authoritah!”

...dysfunction is not a surprise!

“Isolated incident... feared for his life.... gotta get home at the end of that shift... one bad apple.... you just don’t understand what it’s like to be a cop....

Did I cover them all?”

There’s probably more. Officer is on administrate leave (ie paid vacation).

Crazy that you have to be super-careful not to make a mental error because it could be deadly.

Mental error like the guy in Arizona(?) that accidentally tried to pull up his pants and was blown away by the cop. After the other moron wanted him to crawl forward, on his belly with his hands up.
