These Ellis Island documents reveal a surprising truth about Donald Trump's immigrant mother

Here's what Donald Trump has to say about low-wage immigrants on his website: "The influx of foreign workers holds down salaries, keeps unemployment high… We need to control the admission of new low-earning workers."

00:00 00:00 What Trump doesn't say, however, is that his own mother would once have fit into that category. When Mary Anne Macleod, who later gave birth to The Donald, first emigrated to the U.S. from Scotland at age 18, she came with only $50 in her possession and a job as a domestic servant.

The new details about Macleod's journey to the U.S. were brought to light by the Scottish newspaper The National this weekend, and are confirmed by public records from Ellis Island. They suggest that the story Trump has told about his mother in the past—that she came over to the U.S. on vacation and fell in love with Fred Trump, Donald's real-estate magnate father—isn't quite true.

Donald Trump's parents were the same natural kind. Barack Obama's parents were not. President Trump was natural born....Obama wasn't. image image

She worked, came here legally, and had enough money to get by while she settled in. Plus, she spoke English and her cultural background was similar to ours.

There is a world of difference between her and some illegal alien from some uncivilized third world dunghole who does not speak the language and brings their backwater, uncivilized “culture” with them.

My ancestors have been here since the 1600s, but I won’t hold it against Trump that he comes from a family of recent *legal* immigrants.

Scotland was then a great intellectual nation... very literate, tremendous scientific and, yes, even religious thinkers.....plus writers, doctors, etc.

Also, she had a job.

And, DJT is quoted as saying we should control....not necessarily stop....immigration of low-wage people.
(The wholesale importation of unskilled foreigners under Obama and prior, too, has been a major contributing factor in the impoverishment of so many American families, including blacks and others). IT is a reasonable thing to say that we should control the immigration into our country.

And we should DEFINITELY stop AND REVERSE all the Islamic invasion.... which is seriously DANGEROUS to us, not merely a matter of economics or jobs

Nothing here refutes that statement. She could easily have been here on vacation, fell in love, went back to immigrate legally.

#42: "the spoke English and her cultural background was similar"

Also Mother Trump's moral background was similar.

Mother Trump wasn't some patois gibbering HIV infected skank who had docked with every horndog on the block by the age of 14.

Exactly, first she immigrated legally, she had a sponsor who had to be completely responsible and could not receive any benefit from the government for years!

To try and compare the uneducated, unskilled, illegal migrants, or even the unskilled, uneducated visa scofflaws and lottery winners that suck at the taxpayer teat the second they cross the border is both deceitful and morally repugnant.

My parents came to America, legally with a sponsor and far less than $50 dollars in their pocket, were required to swear they would neither seek or accept any government aid for a period of five years. In all their years they did take anything from the government until they drew Social Security which they worked hard for for many years. And in all that time raised three children paying every medical bill themselves, bought and paid for three homes, oh and they became citizens as soon as they could and never considered themselves anything other than Americans, just like immigrants used to.

And that's another thing about the vast majority of these special people, they never stop thinking of themselves as anything other than citizens of the shitholes they were so desperate to leave!

"Scotland wasn’t a barely literate backwater. One cannot claim that Scotland and Upper Volta are the same."

I forget, did James Watt, Adam Smith, David Hume, and Robert Burns come from Scotland, or Upper Volta, or maybe it was Haiti?

David Livingstone, John Knox, Alexander Fleming, Robert Louis Stevenson and Walter Scott may have come from Haiti.

Not to mention that $50 back then was WAY more than $50 would be today. On ‘vacation’? in the US today, most only dream of scrapping the pennies to pay for a ‘vacation’. The lass was probably proficient in English as well.

FDR was very much a creature of the “progressive” era,

FDR was a fascist, plain and simple.
