I doesn’t even really bother me when some gloryhound tries to steal all the thunder so long as we all know what is what and we get the job done

My buddy Joe wrote a manifesto, and on his last day when he had all his i’s dotted and t’s crossed

He sent it to the President of the company and copied EVERYONE

He made it clear that when we were young we LOVED our jobs and the mission, we would work insane hours and never worried about the pay.
He made it clear PC and bean counters made the last 10 years hell

There seems to be a lifespan of bureaucracies. An organization is founded to get things done. It works as you say for about 30-40 years. Then all the original founders have died off or retired, and most of their acolytes/hand picked successors.

The organization then goes to bean counters and bureaucrats without the original founders vision. It goes downhill from there.

I saw it happen at Yuma Proving Ground. Sad, really sad.

Of course, there are organizations that never get much done at all.
