Electronics giants like Samsung, LG, Panasonic and more suddenly lost power to their booths a little after 11 a.m. PT. LGs exhibit in the center portion of the hall is enclosed, and when the power dropped out it drew audible gasps from attendees, and for a minute it seemed like some sort of surprise announcement. But everyone quickly realized that there was a problem and brought out their phones to provide a modicum of light as attendees exited the hall.
Other parts of the hall remain up and running, but CES attendees outside were locked out of the convention center after the outage...

I'm glad nobody shouted "Aloha Snackbar" in the sudden darkness. There would have been a stampede.

If the OLED TV manufacturers were quick thinking, they probably used the outage as an opportunity to continue to tout OLEDs perfect blacks. /s

How about a nice 40% tariff on all imported TVs. We can make them here and employ Americans.

And Samsung is refurbing a Caterpiller factory to make washers and dryers.I'm in the market for a bench top drill press. I cannot find one Made in the USA. I am going to have to spend either a gazillon on a Swiss made one(Jet) or go cheap with Gook made one that will last about a year. I hate Harbor Fake.
