Beaming seal is the picture of joy as he rolls around in his very own seaside mud bath
Daily Mail ^ | 9 January 2018 | Dianne Apen-sadler

An adorable seal was caught on camera completely covered in mud enjoying a relaxing bath by a passing photographer.

The chilled seal was covered from head to tail in sticky seaside mud as it lolled about on the sand dunes of Donna Nook, Lincolnshire.

Nigel Cox, 54, took the charming shot while on a photography holiday and on first seeing the seal he thought it looked like it was covered in chocolate.

Nigel said: 'I started photography at an early age after my father, who worked at Kodak, gave me my first camera. In my teens, I progressed to an SLR camera and so started the photographic journey that I have enjoyed for the last forty years.

Sea Lions.

They’re called Sea Lions.

Not Sea Kittens.

Sea Lions.

And there are people who love beautiful baby animals and really good photography. And then there are those who try to make those moments into something dirty and nasty. I truly don’t understand people who find it fun to ruin other people’s pleasure. I’m seeing this too often on FR to be enjoying it. There’s a fun sense of humor, and then there’s trying to hurt other people. And that’s what I’m seeing on these wild animal threads. I can’t imagine going onto a hunting thread and trying to make people feel badly about killing animals. Why would anyone want to try to make people who love animals feel badly?

Free Republic etiquette is such that responding to the first post on a thread is seen as making a general comment about the thread.

It is not an attack upon the poster.

It’s not a comment about the poster. Of course, it’s not. It’s a comment meant to be funny. Someone thinks that cruelty is funny. And they bring that type of humor to a thread about beautiful baby animals because they think cruelty humor is truly funny. I just think that they haven’t learned how to feel what other people feel. What that type of humor feels like to people who come to see beautiful images. And I have no idea how you explain to those people that they are being hurtful, not funny.

Thanks, Vinnie. I really hope the photographers are using telephoto lenses. And the ones rubbing the seal pups are truly crazy when you see the teeth pictures.

Well, I tried to play nice.

Some seals eat penguins.

Do you enjoy throwing the penguins to the seals?

How many penguins do you feed your seal friends every day?

Have you ever asked the penguins how they feel about seals?

Yes. Animals eat other animals. And do you find pleasure in that? I truly hope not. There are small souls dying every day because other souls need to survive. That’s not a glory. That’s a very sad reality. To get excited about killing and dying? I can’t understand a soul like that. I hope I never can. But why would you try to make people feel miserable with the recognition of death when they come to see beauty. What do you find makes you feel good to try to bring people down?

It’s not about the fact that small souls are constantly dying out there. It’s about why would you come to a thread about happiness and joy and try to destroy it?

He's a famous singer named Seal. Google it.

Now do you get the point???

And that’s another sad reality. You did what you had to do. It IS your living and you’re competing with them. It’s just that this was meant to be a thread about loving small animals. Not about hoping they die or getting off on telling people that you kill them. You kill them because you have to financially. Not because you’re a mean or cruel person.

So, you’re a penguin murderer.

How can you sleep at night knowing that you enjoy feeding little penguins to seals?

Do you keep marks on the wall for how many penguins you murder?

How many marks do you have?

Or do you need the seals to come and build you a new wall?

Filthy penguin killer.
