2017 was a great year, politically. But it was a devastating year for me personally. Just tonight, I got a call that one of my other best friends passed away. I've lost 2 best friends in 6 months. I know God is in charge, but it still hurts.
They were both retired cops, one of them was a Viet Nam vet.
My heart is broken.
Youll be in my prayers today. The two Joes had a good freind in you!
Yeah, 2017 wasn’t a good one for me either. Lost my little brother and hunting buddy Brian to brain cancer.
Sorry for your losses. I went to 2 visitations in Dec, one was from cancer and the other a mountain biking accident.
They happened so close together it made me realize that if I’m lucky enough to stay alive, this will happen all too often.
The happy thing is, I know they both lived life to the fullest.
Prayers for you and all on this thread that have lost loved ones. You said it yourself “God is in charge”. Hopefully by your faith you will see them again and in the meantime there is no more suffering for them. Love never dies.
I know how you feel. Hoo, boy! Do I know how you feel. Been there, done that. When people say it takes time, they dont want to say how much time. Because. it. is. a. lot.Your mission is to survive. And strive for happiness.

Losing loved ones is hard. Treasure your memories.
Your heart is broken because you don’t know how it works.
I will guarantee you, your friends are not gone, based on things I saw, which I would have dismissed as brain-quirks, were they not confirmed by others who saw them too.
Your friends are on a wild ride right now which they are enjoying, and I’d assume you’ll see them again.
It really is silly that people get these ideas that this ultra-complex world is a quirk, and it all ends here forever. I used to think that, but I cannot say how silly it seems in retrospect.
I hope some day you get a glimpse behind the curtain. There are things you can see which will change everything.
