This is probably because Trump can’t trust Sessions. Of note; On August 4, 2017 Sessions says there are 27 major Leak Investigations by the DOJ into Classified information. He is making this his top priority.

On Dec. 23, 2017 Devin Nunes , Chairman of House intelligence Committee, says he has no knowledge of any investigation into any intelligence leaks by the DOJ or any other Gov’t entity.

Now which is Sessions doing? Nothing or something? I am asking because some people have been posting from different planets that Sessions is going to stop all this stuff when the 1.8 million page IG report comes out in 2036. As a fellow Freeper of the same line of thinking, am I correct in that assumption.

Sessions is a sacred cow to some here, because of all the great work he did as a Senator. But the President's constant criticism of him has been warranted, in my opinion.

- Took the job of Attorney General, but then refused to do the job, recusing himself from the ongoing impeachment attempt against the President

- Refused to investigate or charge Lois Lerner, Hillary's IT guy, etc, despite call from prominent Republicans including House Oversight Committee

- Refused to appoint special counsel to investigate apparent crimes of cover up and obstruction in DOJ when requested by House Judiciary Committee

- Publicly stated he didn't vote for Roy Moore, likely costing Republicans his former seat

- Responded to Trump calling the FBI quote “a disgrace” by claiming there are quote “innocent explanations” for them.

There's other examples, but those last two have caused me to turn against Sessions after all these years, at least for now. Maybe he'll actually do something, eventually, but some of these recent reports he's actually back on the job were based on flimsy fake news reporters.

So the obvious question is,

1) what are the rules regarding *reporting* of DOJ investigations into leaks of classified info, to Congress? Include timing, scope, how often updated?

2) Who are the recipients of said reports? Would Nunes be on the list? And if so, is that regular updates during the course of the investigation, or only when it's all done, or only for certain types of leaks, or only of leaks on certain topics?
