1. Everyone gets old, if they don't die young.
2. Having children is a gift, and in addition to being a very, very important responsibility, it enriches life.
3. Being ‘successful’ in the ways society often defines (famous, high-profile job, wealthy) doesn't even begin to bring as much meaning to life as being surrounded by people who you love, and who love you.
So, not having kids because it might change your physical appearance would be a tragic mistake.

I would be interested in life expectancy for women who have had more than two, versus those who had one or two.
Further, I would be interested in comparing those results to those who have had one or more abortions.

This is just another narrative aimed at reducing the population of people who look like me.
The pill, “safe sex,” vasectomies, acceptance of acts that cannot result in pregnancy, delaying marriage for career, porn, restricting the size of families...cultural suicide.

So, my grandmother who had 13 kids and lived to be 102, would have lived to 200 if she hadn’t?

My great-grandmother bore eleven children, buried three of them, raised my mother from infancy, spent her life as a farm wife, and battled cancer for twenty years before dying at 78. She died before I was born, so my knowledge of her is from my mother and from a photo I have of her late in life. She had a kind and pleasant face, and looked very good considering what she had been through. Of course, she was of a breed of human being quite common in her day, and quite rare today.

That is nonsense. Our old church in Rockford Illinois has numerous families with eight and more children (12 is generally the upper limit). These women, in middle-age and late-middle age are generally more youthful and certainly more slender than their low-fecundity counterparts.

When I spent some time in No Carolina in a rural area, I was shocked how many women had missing and horrible teeth. Apparently loss of calcium from multiple childbirth and stupidity of nutrition. It can age them if they do not take care of themselves.

I doubt that I could ever get along with a young child, but I do understand that people who have children are prosperous in their own way — not talking about material prosperity.
To: simpson96
Maybe so, but guess what?
I dont give a damn. I wouldnt trade my kids in for ANYTHING. Ever. Nothing.

I have no children and up until five years ago, I looked pretty damn good. But now, five years later, I look like hell. What happened? I went into politics.
