It's that time of year to post Your Favorite Christmas song.
This is mine,Nat King Cole - "The Christmas Song" (1961),what's yours?
Just think of Christmas day spent going through Graceland. Or spending the time in Vegas watching old ladies throw themselves at a drug filled fat Elvis. Its not so much the song as it the fall from grace that boy took. There was little left of his soul by the time he stopped breathing at the young age of 40 on that bathroom floor.
Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel
very impressive church choir and orchestra
thank you for sharing
I cant settle on just one favorite, but this is one of them.

“Hark! The Herald Angels Sing “ That one says it all.
Let’s try not to bring down this thread.
This tune, composed by Amanda Kennedy during the dark and dreary Christmas season of 1918, a time of political and economic turmoil as well as pestilence, exudes inspiration and hope, especially for those who don't feel so holly and jolly at Christmas.
Star of the East
Star of the East, oh Bethlehem's star,
Guiding us on to heaven afar.
Sorrow and grief are lulled by thy light
Thou hope of each mortal, in death's lonely night
Fearless and tranquil, we look up to thee
Knowing thou beam'st through eternity.
Help us to follow where thou still dost guide
Pilgrims of earth so wise.
Oh star that leads to God above,
Whose rays are peace and joy and love.
Watch o'er us still till life hath ceased.
Beam on, bright star, sweet Bethlehem star
Star of the East, thou hope of the soul
While round us here the dark billows roll
Lead us from sin to glory afar
Thou star of the East, thou sweet Bethlehem's star
Lo, how a Rose E’er Blooming (Es ist ein Rose Entsprungen).
But I don't. I think of an unknown guy, or maybe even myself, being sad cause he can't be with the one he loves on Christmas.
Try that.
Silent Night
O Holy Night.
Hands down.
Minuit, Chrétiens (Christians, it's Midnight; aka O Holy Night)--Georges Thill (1932)
O Holy Night
I also like the Little Drummer Boy because it shows how God uses our gifts. And that is so precious. Ezra Jack Keats wrote a beautiful children’s story about this song with illustrations that are moving.
Merry Christmas to all.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
