That Time the U.S. Navy Had a Close Encounter With a UFO (More good info)

The New York Times on Saturday reported on a mysterious interaction between the U.S. Navy and what could only be called UFOs. The sighting, which took place in 2004, involved a U.S. Navy Aegis cruiser, seven Hornet and Super Hornet strike fighter jets, and a pair of unknown objects. The sighting, which was rumored but unsubstantiated for a decade remains unexplained to this day.

*snip*

According to the Times:

For two weeks, the operator said, the Princeton had been tracking mysterious aircraft. The objects appeared suddenly at 80,000 feet, and then hurtled toward the sea, eventually stopping at 20,000 feet and hovering. Then they either dropped out of radar range or shot straight back up.

[From an excerpt from Carrier Air Wing 11’s event summary for November 14, 2004 at source:]

There are several interesting details about the sighting here. For one, there were clearly two unidentified objects. The first was a large underwater object that was “much larger than a submarine.” For reference, the U.S. Virginia-class nuclear attack submarines are 377 feet long. The object also had some passing resemblance to a “downed airliner.” This was technically a USO, or unidentified swimming object. Although much rarer than UFOs, such craft have been sighted over the years.

Don't have time or interest in being a troll. You are merely showing your lack of understanding and knowledge to assert that.

Times are rapidly changing, however. Tons of info is being readied right now to be dumped into the public domain officially for the first time ever.

I gather you didn't really GROK the OP very well?

Sorry, but that sounds like a debunker groping, groping, groping. Besides sounding ignorant.

Thanks. There was likely a carrier nearby. Do you know which one?

They might have insured sound equipment.

However, say in 10 years on such a job you and your supervisor had experienced 300+ cases that virtually all were not worth bothering with. Why bother with this one?

What new could they do that hadn’t been done 100’s of times before to no useful effect?

Well, let’s just say I was hopeful.

Never having been abducted, or contacted personally, and never having seen any evidence (UFO) myself, I’m a committed sceptic.

Doesn’t mean it’s impossible, but you can count me with the unconvinced.

We’ve long had a mental image of that scene, too.

Here's a good resource for looking into this stuff...
Abduction: Human Encounters with Aliens by Dr John Mack (Harvard psychiatrist)
Dr Mack took a completely clinical approach to this stuff and never leapt to any conclusions that were not supported by evidence.

Fellow professors tried to get his tenure revoked because of the outrageous nature of the subject matter of his research.

They tried everything.

They failed.

Now—he just thinks it’s ignorant.

Does he run around saying, "That's ignorant," like Michael Jackson?

LOL.

We vaguely recall a recent YOUTUBE of a lad maybe 8-14 or so years old who had a trip to Heaven or a visitation by an angel of The Lord. We forget.

Anyway--the lad was told that yes, WW3 would be very horrible. However, the war afterwards with the fallen angels/ETs would be FARRRR worse as they would be trying to exterminate mankind off the planet--in addition to eating them.

Thankfully, we know from the Bible that they will "only" be able to exterminate about half the population started with.

At their levels of tech, incremental improvements are fairly inconsequential, it seems.

You might want to get a tighter death grip on that skepticism.

It's half-life just got dramatically decreased with this disclosure and particularly with that purportedly slated to come out in waves over the next 30 days.

Jocko, with all due respect. You keep referring to yourself as "we".

I'm a real bad smartass and I'm trying super hard not to hurt your feelings. But that just sounds weird.

Are you sure you yourself are not an advanced scout for the ET invasion? We humans just don't talk like that.

And remember, I said "with all due respect" so you can't get mad.

Thanks. Housemate was slightly annoyed at Dr Mack for not venturing further in terms of his opinions and conjectures about implications etc. Yet, we both understood the vast merit in him sticking to being strictly clinical.

No. He sometimes sighs a lot when faced with such ignorance, however. It’s more wearying to him than anything.
