Fraud? He’s probably using his notoriety to get laid. Think of all the dufus feminists that want a baby with perfect genes. I’m sure they’re out there. Saw it on Doogie Howser once.

Instinct = common-sense.

Some have it, some never will.

Uh oh. Not good. Does this mean he has even more assinine ideas than Steven Hawking?

Some of his ideas are scary. Don't doubt for an instant he's smart but he draws scary conclusions like zero freedom of volition, eugenics, aborting childrens with bad DNA, global warming.

That’s exactly what Einstein use to say. He said he would go by instinct and “circle around it” until the old light bulb would go off, sort of like turning a lens until it was in focus. I found out that is usually the case with great music composers as well like Mozart or Beethoven, Mozart said his best ideas came from the mist, I forget what word he used, while going from a walk or horse ride in a carriage. “It” is there, but they can’t put their finger on it, they circle it by instinct as if another force is directing them. Bob Dylan said the same thing, to this day he has no idea how he wrote those songs. Amazing stuff.

I recall reading decades ago that many of the highest IQ people work in repetitive, isolated jobs. The thinking was part of what you said (social aspect) and the repetition allowing them to free their minds to work on numerous other ideas. So it seems repetitive work is not a real problem (frees your mind) but having to live at home with your family (no independence) is the real kicker. A genius inventor uncle of mine was able to live alone but kept dropping his paycheck on the floor -they found them all over the building - until they had direct deposit opened for him. The mind is busy elsewhere.

VIZZINI: Let me put it this way: have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Langan?

MAN IN BLACK: Yes.

VIZZINI: Morons.

One of my favorite bits from “Broadcast News:”

Paul Moore: It must be nice to always believe you know better, to always think you’re the smartest person in the room.

Jane Craig: No. It’s awful.

Hey I took that Omni test. “pain is to rue as ___ is to ___”

At eighteen I appreciated cleverness more than wisdom.

As an intelligent and successful artist, I am of the opinion that it’s more about filtering out / eliminating the worries, etc. that clutter up one’s consciousness in order to allow one to be free to fully focus on the need/task as hand.

I otherwise can’t explain where my ideas come from either.

“took what was billed as “the world’s most difficult IQ test” in Omni magazine,”

Yeah - but his drawing of the dog on the match-book cover looked like crap!

If he doesn’t have a FReeper nom de plume, he simply cannot be the smartest man in the world.

Au contraire, if he is found to have a DU nom de plume, he plunges to dumbest man who ever lived.

at 7:15 he says, "the sea is becoming a desert, running out of farmland, losing the Ozone layer and ALL our ice caps are melting."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YD3sVYZgkRA

Jerry Lewis and Steve Martin proven an intelligent person can pretend to be stupid but a stupid person can't pretend to be intelligent.
