NFL Attendance Continues To Plummet As Empty Seat Epidemic Enters Week 15

As the NFL copes with a ratings slump and ESPN slashes $80 million in salaries after losing 15,000 subscribers a day in October, another major issue facing the league continued to play out in week 15 – terrible attendance.

Ravens vs. Browns, Start 2nd Qtr

While many blame the kneeing epidemic of unpatriotic players refusing to stand for the National Anthem – which started in the summer 2016 pre-season by former San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, others point to a boring season, cord cutters and broke millennials staying home.

Either way, it’s ugly. Since most NFL attendance figures are based on “tickets distributed” as opposed to actual turnstile count, and most NFL ticket sales are to season-ticket holders, it’s nearly impossible to tell how many people are simply choosing not to attend games for which they’ve already bought tickets. Except, pictures don’t lie…

MetLife Stadium was a ghost town at the end of the first quarter, and “1/2 full” as the Philadelphia Eagles and NY Giants headed into the 4th quarter:

I agree.

What happens within a given NFL game is about as interesting to me as what happens at an Antifa or BLM meeting. Just don’t care what anti-American organizations do.

In Vegas, where there are so many hot tickets in town, the hottest ticket of them all is for the new (and winning) Golden Knights NHL team.

Every home game so far is sold out. And no nfl-like empty seats.

NFL is on its last legs. Millennial couldn’t care less, and the old reliable boomers are finding better things to do, like a good old Sunday afternoon nap.

I am more like an 80 week former fan.

I want to be clear — it is not a boycott. Thug football is dead to me. Not-Another-Dime / Not-Another-Minute. Ever.

I did not know about the team.

Thanx.

Looks like there is no player from the west side of the US Rockies....

The Fords and the Coca Colas aren't affected by the nfl's decline, but all those industries I listed are. They have the right to be angry at the nfl.

As for the nfl going overseas, they've been showcasing regular season games in London for nearly a decade now, but it seems to attract too little interest for the nfl to even consider expanding or moving an existing team there.

Haha at the Redskins stadium. So tired of the team being so terrible for 25 years.

Yeah, the NHL draft gave the Vegas team a great advantage. The team was able to pick decent players from all the other existing teams.

A lot of the Vegas players are from up northeast and Europe.

The only local is Engelland, who played previously with the former non-NHL team in Vegas.

Britons still believe American football is a girl game. Rugby is the game for man.
