“Have not drank Pepsi since first read this “

Haven’t had a carbonated drink since about 1985 when my urologist took me to his white board and drew out the stoichiometric equations that merged CO2 with uric acid to make my kidney stones. Now the stuff tastes so foul to me that I can’t even sip some at a party.

But, had I know about this, I’d have quit anyway.

Me too. Urologist had to go through my back to remove my kidney stones. Went over my diet and used to drink 3-4 Diet Cokes per day. Not anymore. Coffee and water only.

After hiking about 45 miles on one stretch of the Application Trail, having drank noting but spring water for three days, I stopped in town to resupply. I had a Mountain Dew - bam it hit me like Red Bull... but I also experienced the negative aspects of Sodas that I had never actually noticed prior. While a cold coke is good sometimes, I know that my body bloats just a bit with these drinks. I could immediately tell that my body had a Soda vs the Spring Water. It took backpacking to purge my body of junk and even scarfing down a Snickers or Pop Tart was a sort of experiment of introducing different sugars, cards, or C02’s and I have since been “aware” to this awakening.
