I can understand that too. Everyone has to find what works for them. But do not disparage others if they like something you do not care for.

An oasis is usually regarded as a source of water in a desert. I have never thought of it as a source of desert in a sea.
Normally I would never go on a 'cruise'. Did once. On the Nile in Egypt. Four days from Aswan to Luxor. Stops along the way to view Egyptian antiquities. One day I came down with 'Tut's Tummy'. Either from fresh salad or ice in drinks. Quickly resolved itself and I was good as gold again.
Would I not do that again? Of course, what an experience! And the next four days in Cairo, including the sphinx and pyramids, Egyptian Museum, and Saladin's Citadel.
But other cruses? I have no desire to cruise the Med etc.
Just curious, which cruises have you done before?
Or, are you like one of those virgins who say sex is horrible!
The cruises departing from US ports on LARGE modern ships with tonnage > 150,000 are totally different than what you experienced on that cruise in river Nile.
The only thing resembling a “cruise” that I’ve been on was a car ferry from Germany to Denmark and an evening party boat excursion on the Wannsee in West Berlin. Otherwise just bass boats.

I see. Those do not sound like real cruises to me. You should try a cruise on a ship larger than the biggest air craft carrier in US navy. Which would mean > 150,000 ton ship.
So? I fully understand that. What is the significance of your comment? I should like cruising on one of the modern behemoths? Count me out! I am a sailor. I have sailed the 'seven seas'. Sail, not stink boater. The Great Lakes, the Pacific, the Caribbean, the Irish Sea, and also the Nile, on a felucca.
Significance is this: The ship does not give you motion sickness, and it does not give you claustrophobia being so spacious. And the bigger ships can afford to hire the better live entertainment. And there are huge choices of food to suit your palette, without a bill each time.
