"There is little to be gained discussing science with an illiterate. "
You know that you just resorted to an ad hominem, right?
Logical Fallacy: Ad hominem"Fallacious ad hominem reasoning is categorized as an informal fallacy,[4][5][6] more precisely as a genetic fallacy, a subcategory of fallacies of irrelevance."
"Common knowledge requires no citation."
So ad hominems and arguing from authority weren't enough for you? Now you want to argue from "common knowledge?"
That's another logical fallacy. The third one you've used in our conversation.
Logical Fallacy: Appeal to Common Belief"When the claim that most or many people in general or of a particular group accept a belief as true is presented as evidence for the claim. Accepting another persons belief, or many peoples beliefs, without demanding evidence as to why that person accepts the belief, is lazy thinking and a dangerous way to accept information."
You really aren't too good at this logical discourse thing, are you? But, I guess when the facts aren't on your side logic is not your friend and word salad is your only remaining tool.
It's just a guess on my part, but you have some legal training in your background, don't you?
No legal training. Chemist and bioscientist for a few decades.
Here’s an example of common knowledge, if one is facing north west is on your left. No need for a citation to convince most people since it is common knowledge.
