I have two big working dogs and live in the mountains. I carry a sidearm or a 12 bore for bears, cougars, coyotes and such. In the towns around here I carry because there are a lot of (mostly young) people who have pit bulls because they think it makes them tough. They are incredibly stupid, usually have lots of tats, and like meth. I see a pit bull and I immediately go on alert.
I had to stabilize an 8 year old girl in 2015 who had half her face torn off by grandma’s pit bull. I pulled the sheriff deputy who was investigating into the exam room and asked him what he was going to do about that. He went back to granny’s house and properly Glocked that bastard. I learned later that is the standing order in our county for vicious dogs. Thank you Sheriff Wheeler!
I agree, chihuahuas don't make good guard dogs......You never see them in junk yards for good reason.
