There’s a mental disconnect. For 40-50 years, everybody has just been told to go with the flow, let it all hang out, not be ‘prudish” - and suddenly they’re complaining about the results.

The problem is that women then felt they really couldn’t “say no” without looking like stick in the mud oldies and killing their career chances, and probably a lot of men felt that they almost had to make a move if they really wanted to maintain a studly reputation that wouldn’t make them subject to claims of being out of it.

I don’t think the foxy tights are a big problem. A lot of these women are older, including Anna Wintour herself, and they’re basically doing the Golden Girls thing. Which is pretty undignified and pathetic, IMHO, but still harmless.

The real problem is how we deal with a society that says sex is the be-all and end-all of human existence.

When she was hired back in November, they all (all the hipster smart kids, that is) snarked at her because she showed up wearing these tights with little foxes on them. Snark snark snark, just like women like to do ;-)
