Today’s world of supercars is a very strange one.

Many of these makes and models are not designed to be cars. They are designed to fulfill a particular financial need.

Cars such as the Bugatti are usable exercises in what is possible, and the Bugatti is sold at half of the cost to make.. The Pagani cars are an example of a car made to suck up dollars. It’s fine craftsmanship, but it’s never, ever intended to be on a road. Or a track. Or anywhere but in a portfolio. Other vehicles meet this description, some Ferraris and Mercedes supercars (And supertruck, like the AMG G-wagen for instance) and just about all of Lamborghini’s “B-side” cars.

The Koenigsegg cars are designed to make their presence, then get sold. So a Koenigsegg CAN do what they say it can. It’s a fine automobile with hand-made carbon fiber wheels. But it only has to do what it does on paper. From there, it’s an investment piece and nothing else.

Now we all know that car values are designed to plummet. Which is what these cars are designed to do as well.

But some are great, well designed cars. like the Lolas, the Saleens, Glickenhaus, and a few others. A few of them run off-the-shelf Ford ecoboost motors, like Ford’s own new GT40.

Where would you shower? Or urinate/defecate? Or at the very least, where would you dispose of those things?

Electric motors are very quiet. some think this a safety hazard. But the gerbils like it.

It IS a safety hazard for deaf or blind people. And, what happens when two of these electric vehicles crash? Haz Mat gets called, immediately. I was in a wreck in DC once that the rental car I was in took out a tour bus; killed it dead in the street. Hit it in the batteries right behind the stairs, and sure enough, battery acid pouring out all over the street. I know HazMat was called that day.
