British firefighters were "seriously unimpressed" when they were called out to rescue a YouTube prankster whose head was cemented inside a microwave.
A video posted to YouTube by 22-year-old prankster TGFbro shows his head being cemented inside a microwave with Pollyfilla with a plastic bag protecting his face and a tube feeding him air.
The prankster tells his friends that, despite the precautions, he is having trouble breathing, and they attempt to free his head -- without success.
The West Midlands Fire Department was summoned to the scene and firefighters spent about an hour freeing the man's head.
"We're seriously unimpressed," the department wrote on Twitter. "Five of our firefighters were tied up for an hour this afternoon, freeing a YouTube pranker whose head had been 'cemented' inside a microwave oven."
Watch Commander Shaun Dakin said the man was lucky he didn't suffocate inside the microwave.
"Taking the microwave apart was tricky, because a lot of it was welded," Dakin told The Guardian. "We video-called our technical rescue colleagues for advice and eventually managed to get him unstuck."
"He was very relieved when we removed a large chunk of the Polyfilla with a screwdriver, allowing him to breathe more easily. But we had to be extremely careful with the screwdriver, working so closely to his head," he said. "It took us nearly an hour to free him. All of the group involved were very apologetic, but this was clearly a call-out which might have prevented us from helping someone else in genuine, accidental need."
There should have been a sixth firefighter tied up for an hour in this case, five to work on freeing him and one more to beat him with a garden hose through the rescue to help keep his head out of any more microwaves.
Yes. A “chav”.
What a blockhead.
Or Jesse from Breaking Bad.
They can call this “Baking Bad”.
My Most Useless & Macabre Task Breakdown du Jour.
If the ‘Poor Boy’ had died from this prank,
the mortician may have had to bury him, as is
with the microwave still stuck on his head.
A Closed Coffin would be the likely result.
What is an undertaker to do for the Last Viewing, dress the deceased in his Football Jacket, wearing his suit from the Prom, only to be distracted by the microwave, albeit polished up and shiny for the ceremony. No, that wouldn’t do. There is no way to present such a situation in a manner that is aesthetically pleasing. It’s not been done before.
To “alter” the cadaver’s pose by force, so that it would fit into a coffin would be expensive, at least $600.
Either alter it or create and build a most unusual looking casket, one with a cube shaped ending. Such a coffin would be next to impossible to be carried without a strap and dolly.
Same thing with a grave plot, more charges to accomodate.
Better off using cremation, making certain that the microwave was unplugged, of course!
They should have just broken it up with a 10 pound sledge hammer. No risk of brain damage for this guy.
Wouldn’t a sledge hammer have been quicker? Or plug it in and when his head explodes, use the fire hose to clean it out?
It’s not like a productive member of society would have been lost.
LOL!
My hat it has three corners,(He isn't too swift in the counting department either...)
three corners has my hat.
And, had it not three corners,
it would not be my hat.
yup
Nothing quite says “Dork” so much as an adjustable baseball cap turned backwards.
“Cemented.” I read several versions of this story and didn’t see any clarification of that. If concrete was used, it wasn’t simply “cemented.” Many of the elite folks who have very little technical knowledge are ignorant of the fact that concrete and cement are two different materials. If it was cement as in glue, that wasn’t explained either.
