Wow. Forgotten Amendments is apparently aptly named. He/She stands up for the First Amendment and gets beaten up over it? In case you may have forgotten, the 1st Amendment is there specifically to protect unpopular speech. Admittedly, it is a double-edged sword. Yes it sucks to hear idiot leftists spout off, but don’t you want the same opportunity to be heard? To paraphrase a quote often attributed to Voltaire, what she said was repulsive and disgusting but I still absolutely defend her right to say it. Maybe I’m naive, but I thought that’s what FR stood for. If I’m wrong, let me know. Trolls, flame away.

FA condemned the OP with no explanation.
The First Amendment is not a magic forcefield against consequences of free speech. Free speech is a two-way street. You have a right to say what you want. I have a right to respond to it if I so desire. We both bear the consequences of any reaction to our respective speech. It could possibly cost one or the both of us our jobs.
Note no one prevented this reporter from making his false report. Are you under the mistaken impression that he was?
Do you think calling for the ouster of political figures you don’t like violates their free speech, too? How is that any different from calling for a reporter making a false report to be fired? Does Trump have any authority over HR at the Washington Post? No, I think even you would admit that he does not.
You really don’t understand the First Amendment.
Not as if anyone here is asking for her to be arrested or anything like that.
Actions have consequences and one must be accountable for their actions and inactions. Lindsey Vonn disrespected the president and the U.S., not just at home, but to the world. She can do all she wants personally but not on someone else’s dime or while representing the US.
