A paedophile was caught when he left his phone on a bus
A paedophile with a disturbing criminal record tried to blame someone else when police found nearly 1,000 images of child abuse on his phone.
Craig Horsfield, 32, from Cardiff, had multiple convictions for making and possessing indecent images of children as well as failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements.
Sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court, Judge Jeremy Jenkins told the defendant: You have a long and disturbing history.
The court heard an employee of Cardiff Bus found Horsfields phone on April 6.
David Pugh, prosecuting, said he found the images while trying to work out who the phone belonged to and alerted the police.

During his police interview Horsfield denied downloading the pictures and videos and tried to blame someone else.
Prosecutors said he had a long history of similar offending.
In 2006 he was made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and given a community order.
The judge said: It was thought then that, with the assistance of the Probation Service, you could be helped to desist.
Prosecutors said Horsfield was repeatedly convicted of possessing indecent images, breaching court orders, and failing to comply with notification requirements.

The defendant, from Caerau Lane, admitted three counts of possessing indecent images of children.
Derrick Gooden, defending, handed the judge character references from his clients employer, mother, and a family friend.
He told the court the Probation Service concluded Horsfield was making progress by engaging with the sex offender programme.
Mr Gooden added: A custodial sentence does not have to be automatic.
Judge Jeremy Jenkins noted the young age of the children being abused.
He told Horsfield: The time has come when you cannot be trusted to comply with any non-custodial order.
These offences pass the custody threshold and only an immediate custodial sentence can be justified.
Horsfield was jailed for 14 months and is already the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
An order was made for his phone to be destroyed and he will have to comply with notification requirements for 10 years.
These people don’t get better.
14 months?
Death is the only appropriate finding.
I agree, tall tree and short rope. OR at least a dull knife and surgery.
Isn’t ALL England a sick cesspool? Can’t stand them.
Why do the Brits put an ‘’a’’ in the word ‘’pedophile’’?
Neighbor is neighbour there too.
btt
