The Commissioner finally has a new contract.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFLs Compensation Committee has informed all owners that a new contract for Commissioner Roger Goodell has been executed.
The memorandum to all owners explains that a binding contract extension has been signed by the Commissioner and by Arthur Blank, on behalf of the League entities. The memo also cites the existence of a nearly unanimous consensus among the owners in favor of finalizing the extension now.
The Compensation Committee received unanimous authorization from the owners in May 2017 to execute the contract. Since then, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been working to delay and/or derail the process. He had four or five other owners on his side, at most. Ultimately, it wasnt enough to keep the contract from being executed.
The XFL was a miserable failure. Why does the NFL need a commissioner trying to turn the NFL into the XFL?
What a lot of football fans were hoping for.
You mean the NFL actually pays him to wreck the league with the asshole players ?
The owners sow the seeds of their own destruction and the league.
Yup. Now he doesnt care what the public thinks.
The league will continue to decline.
Player salaries have already hit the high water mark.
The poster boy for the NFL is Marshawn Lynch.
Good.
Rewarding the man who destroyed pro football. What a sham! Most of the owners must be Democrats supporting the liberal messages of pro football commentators and players. Another reason not to ever watch pro football again. Maybe they will get the message after advertising revenue drops, but I doubt it.
This confirms they couldn’t care less what their fans think, it’s all about their progressive agenda now.
Yes! The NFL hastens its demise.
The NFL owners must have a suicide wish for the NFL.
This appears to be an insane decision on its face. What is driving it?
Rest in peace NFL!
Young players coming out of college need to adjust their salary expectations. The revenue just ain't going to be there; each successive season will be worse than the season before.
Eventually there will be a player's strike over deflated salaries, games with non-union players, and that will be the beginning of the end of the NFL as we've always known it. You it here first.
Whatever it is that TPTB intend to take its place, I'm not sure. It will have something to do with the intentional loss of any sort of American identity, and the recent trend to games played in other countries... JMHO.
Amazing. Will he sign the Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition for the NFL?
The NFL continues its march to suicide, oh well.
Fixed.
...and in other NFL news....the Cleveland Browns came up with an incentive for the players....from now on all loses will count as a parole violation
Find a way to ruin the most successful pro sport in America with a lot of social justice nonsense, get rewarded with a $200 million contract. The NFL’s slide into obscurity continues apace as Roger Goodell continues to fail his way to riches.
Toodles.
